This custom-built home in the Malibu mountains features a striking modern design and is engineered for stability with 13 deep caissons anchoring it into the hillside terrain. Designed to blend contemporary architecture with the rugged beauty of its natural surroundings, the home showcases clean lines, open spaces, and panoramic views a true example of mountain-modern living.

Originally built in 1948, this 1,290 sq ft mid-century single-family home nestled in the hills of Rustic Canyon was fully stripped to its framework. The property was thoughtfully transformed into a modern 4 bedroom, 2 bath residence, expanding to 2,201 sq ft of architecturally inspired living space. A full redesign that blends contemporary design with the unique charm of one of Santa Monica’s most eclectic neighborhoods.

This project involved a complete interior gut renovation and the addition of a second floor. The home was rebuilt with all-new electrical, plumbing, and finishes, and equipped with central heating and air. A showcase of full-scope residential remodeling, from structural expansion to modern interior design.

The house was completely gutted and transformed with a new central HVAC system, upgraded doors and windows, and brand-new flooring throughout. The renovation also included the installation of a custom-designed pool, creating a modern and comfortable living space inside and out.
